Special Conditions

When booking a KLM flight, you agree to our General Conditions of Carriage, which apply to you and your baggage. Make sure to read these additional conditions as well.

Special Conditions are part of the General Conditions of Carriage. They contain rules based on local laws and regulations for a specific country or region. This means Special Conditions may differ from the General Conditions of Carriage.

Always read both the General Conditions of Carriage and the Special Conditions for the country or region where you book your ticket.

Online booking

You can book flights for a maximum of 9 passengers (adults and children) per booking. Each adult may accompany one infant traveling on their lap.

Your booking is confirmed when you receive a booking reference. We will also send a confirmation email containing all the details of your booking to the email address you provided.

Keep in mind: In accordance with the provisions of the EU regulation, the customer's right of withdrawal does not apply to airline tickets, unless local law provides otherwise.

Fares quoted include all taxes, except where taxes are collected locally at the airport. Fares are only guaranteed once you have received a booking reference.

Online payment

To pay online, you need a debit or credit card. KLM will debit the payment from your card immediately. In some countries, you can use other payment methods, such as bank transfer, Apple Pay, or local payment methods.

Payment is secured using encryption that meets the highest industry standards.

If you choose to pay in a currency different from the one shown on our website, please note that exchange margin fees are non-refundable if you request a voluntary ticket refund. However, these fees will be refunded in the case of an involuntary ticket refund (i.e., for reasons beyond your control).

Special conditions for the Italy website

In the event the Passenger, for whatever reason, cannot use the ticket for his/her flight, and will still use the ticket for further legs (or in case of multi-leg tickets, for the inbound legs), the Passenger must notify KLM within 24 hours from the start of the first leg of the unused outbound flight. If the departure time of the return flight is within 24 hours of the unused outbound flight, the Passenger must notify KLM at least 2 hours before the departure of the return flight. In either case, the passenger must notify KLM by calling 02 3859 4998. In the absence of such communication, the Passenger will be treated in conformity with Article 3.4 (b).
